Youth Civic Engagement

YOUTH COUNCIL OF ŠTIP

With the Youth Council of Stip I facilitated youth workshops on project design, management, and evaluation, team-work, leadership, and volunteerism.  As the Youth Council of Stip is an an advisory body to the City Council of Stip, I worked to develop and broaden youth civic participation in the policy-making process at the local level.   This involved surveying youth on their needs, assets, and perceived community problems, and the composition of policy briefs for use by the City Council of Stip.

I further supported youth civic engagement through community service projects, outreach to local high-schools and universities, serving as a mentor to youth interested in promoting civic engagement and creating community projects, and in implementing international youth exchanges with European partners through the Erasmus+ program.  This year we have sent youth from Štip on cultural exchanges to Finland and Spain; in 2018 we are currently planning exchanges in Macedonia and Italy.
