“FLAGS OF CONVENIENCE: THE COMMODIFICATION OF SOVEREIGNTY IN THE EUROPEAN UNION”
At Central European University I completed my Master’s thesis on the phenomenon of Flags of Convenience, and use as a commodified form of sovereignty within the European Union. I completed original research in Malta -- with the University of Malta's Ocean Governance program, and Transport Malta -- on the use and expansion of Flags of Convenience in Malta.
My thesis was awarded high marks for the originality and importance of the subject in the international public policy field, and it’s relevance to a broad range of disciplines (including migration studies, public policy, international law, and transportation).
